 Food Service

Breakfast at 8:35 A.M. Cost = $.90

Milk: Cost = $.50 per carton; 10.00 per 20-day ticket

Lunch:  Cost = $1.75 per meal; $8.75 per 5-days.    $35 per 20-days.

You may add money to a students lunch account through mylunchmoney.com .

Report Card Distribution:  

 

Parking:  Parent and visitor parking is in the South lot.  Students will be crossed at the crosswalk.  Parking is not permitted in the fire lane,  Yellow curbs designate fire lanes.

 

Student Pick-up and Attendance:  All students must be signed out in the office prior to leaving the building during the day.  Call the school office (381-1712) before 9 A.M. if your child will be absent.  A message machine will take your information during non-office hours.

 

Service Fees:  $18.00 per semester for Kindergarten; $27.00 per semester for grades 1st-5th. 

 

Bicycles:  Students in grades 4 & 5 may ride bikes to school.  All student must wear a helmet when riding their bikes to Blue Grass School.  Bikes must be walked on Sycamore St. and on the school grounds or sidewalks.  Bike privileges may be revoked if safety rules are not followed.

 

Dress Code: Students are expected to wear appropriate clothing which does not disrupt the learning environment.  Midriffs are to be covered.

 

Medications:  All medications given at school must include the name of the drug, dosage, hour to be given and a letter signed by the physician.  Medication given at school must be in the proper container and dispensed from the nurse's office.

 

Discipline:  Students are to take responsibility for their own words, actions and behaviors.  If students model inappropriate behaviors, the adults in charge and the principal will determine the consequences.

 

Student Expectations:     

Attend class daily and on time

Approach learning with a positive attitude.

Model the 7 life skills of caring, common sense, effort, initiative, perseverance, responsibility, and teamwork.

Bring all supplies and planner to class daily.

Complete and return all work using your personal best.

 

Parent Expectations:         

Read daily for 20 minutes to your child.

Express a positive and interested attitude about school. 

Communicate with the teachers

Provide nourishing meals and a regular routine.

Set a consistent bedtime.

Provide appropriate clothing for all weather.

 

Emergency School Closings:  Late starts, early dismissals, or school cancellations are determined by the Superintendent of School.  Tune into KWQC television, other major television stations, and radio stations for up-to-date information on emergency closings.

 

Visitors:  All visitors must check into the school office for a visitor's badge before entering the hallways of the building.
