First Day Project
Thousands of new school supplies are collected each
year by the First Day Project for needy students in
the Davenport Community School District and Diocese
of Davenport Schools. This program combines the
generosity of area community members with the
efforts of the staff of the Davenport Post Office
who pick up these school supply donations on their
daily routes on the specially designated date. Our
goal is “to make sure all students have the school
supplies they need to start the new school year
positively and successfully.”
