DAVENPORT SCHOOLS PLAN SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
The Davenport Community Schools are planning two
summer enrichment programs for students currently
grades K-5. One program will take place at the
Lincoln Academy of Integrated Arts/Bucktown Center
and the other at Wilson Elementary. Both sites will
feature three sessions. Sessions will be from June
19 to June 30, an interim session from July 5 to
July 7, and another session from July 10 to July 21.
Hours at the Lincoln site will be from 8 to 11:30
a.m. and at Wilson from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Both
programs will provide breakfast and lunch. Cost is
on a sliding fee scale – full pay is $13 per day,
students who qualify for reduced lunch is $9 per
day, and students who qualify for free lunch will be
$6 per day.
At both programs, children will rotate through a
series of activities – including academic
enrichment, recreation, arts/crafts, and working
with various community programs and partners. Both
sites will also offer field trips.
The Lincoln Summer Arts Academy at Bucktown will
work with many art partners from throughout the
downtown Davenport area. Children will explore
different aspects of art – including painting, print
making, jewelry, ceramics, poetry, music, drama and
dance. Classes will take place primarily at the
Bucktown Center for the Arts at 225 E. 2nd Street.
Stepping Stones Summer Enrichment at Wilson will be
located at Wilson Elementary. Children will work
with community partners to explore a number of
creative and academic opportunities.
You can register for either program by contacting
the Davenport Schools at the Kimberly Center, 1002
W. Kimberly Road (near the Village Shopping Center)
