Gear Up Students and Parents/Guardians PLEASE mark your calendars…we will be having our Fall Parent/Student Meeting on Wednesday, October 19th at 5:30 pm in the LMC.  A light dinner will be served so please email Ms. O’Hare at oharemarkerj@davenportschools.org or call her at 386-5500 to RSVP for the meeting.

We will cover VERY important information including:

• Who will be my student’s GEAR UP mentor? (meet and greet)

• When/where will tutoring be offered?
• How can I sign my student up for classes on time management and study skills?

• Meet with Chol Chagai- our GEAR UP Iowa Contact representative – he will cover:
  • His background and what brought him to Gear up
  • The Scholarship Component of Gear UP
  • Post Secondary Education
• Parents/Guardians will verify:  (to help Ms. O’Hare expedite good communication J)
  • Mailing information
  • Phone information
  • Email information

• Parents/ Guardians will have an opportunity to identify what needs THEY have to help their GEAR UP students be successful
• Introduction of the Service Learning Project Opportunity (to WIN a trip to Washington D.C.) WOW!
