*The book, Mwalimu’s Dream, has just been published!
Two of our students, Mwalimu Karisa and Arina Russkikh, have collaborated to complete this book about clean water for Mwalimu’s village in Kenya.
There will be two book signings at the West Family YMCA on these dates:
- June 4: 10 am – Noon and 6-8 pm
- June 6: 10 am – Noon and 6-8 pm
The book cost is $10 with all proceeds going to the well project.
*Congratulations to the girls track & field team for representing West at the State Meet. All the girls finished their tremendous season off with great performances, highlighted by Tanner Werthmann winning a medal in the finals of the 100 meter hurdles. Great job ladies.
All track & field athletes must turn in their uniforms. Fines have been added to your account and they will not be removed until Coach Rietz has your uniform. Also, if you haven’t picked up your seasonal awards, you need to see Coach Rietz.

*The Sophomore & Varsity baseball teams both won their first games of the season last night. The Varsity Baseball team was led by Shawn Simmons dominant complete game pitching effort, while Andrew Wiese led the way offensively by hitting 3 doubles. In the Sophomore game Andrew Bernauer pitched a complete game shutout and picked up the win for the Falcons. The Varsity Baseball team's home opener is tomorrow night at 5:00 against Iowa City West, come on out and help cheer on the Falcons to victory."

We celebrate last night’s Victories in Boys Sub-State Soccer, Varsity Baseball and Sophomore Baseball.
Last night our Varsity Boys Soccer Team beat Burlington in the first round of sub-state play by a score of 1-0. Our Varsity Boys Baseball Team beat Iowa City High by a score of 9-1 and our Sophomore Boys Baseball Team beat Iowa City High by a score of 5-0.
As the Bell Chimes, please take a moment to bask in the glory of our Victories.
